Jenny Beirne
An Absorbing Tale Of Sleuthing
Review date: 15th November 2019

This is the second of Katie Gray's books in the 'Dead' series that I have read.
I found it an absorbing tale of sleuthing in the Suffolk countryside. It features husband and wife private investigators Jack and Pippsy (their firm is wonderfully named Four Eyes Everywhere). The story is told by Pippsy, in a friendly, almost chatty style, the action taking place in the Suffolk retirement community where Pippsy's mother lives. Despite the cosy atmosphere, the plot unfolds with mystery, murder and dark secrets from the past, leading to an action-packed climax and a surprise twist as the story ends. A compelling read, with (refreshingly) not too much darkness and no sex!
