Nina Jervis-Green
Some FANTASTIC ideas for keepi
Review date: 8th July 2025

Gail knows what she’s talking about, and these ideas are genius - such as using ‘World Ice Cream Day’ as a basis to keep the kids entertained all day (and not just by eating ice-cream!). The book is written with such thought and care, and there’s an emphasis on keeping kids learning - in fun ways! - so they don’t go back to school feeling tired and demotivated. Seriously, it’s the only guide busy parents will ever need.

Description

Prepare yourself for the summer holidays and make sure your child is still learning whilst having fun, so they’ll be ready to jump right back into school life easily once the holidays are over. Brought to you by a school teacher who has been working in the industry for over 30 years, Gail has put together a lesson plan for all 6 weeks of the summer, plus a bonus extra 3 weeks in case you wish to swap and change, or use these weeks for another holiday.

Without guidance children can often lose momentum or suffer learning loss, which is when neural connections fade, or can get into habits or attitudes that won’t help them in life. This book can help address those issues by ensuring children are still working on their core skills over their break.

These holiday lesson plans provide the perfect opportunity to keep your child busy over the summer holidays.
