Kate Miller has had a varied writing career as an advertising copywriter, journalist on national newspapers, magazine editor, writer of several non-fiction books, playwright and, now, fiction author with her first novel ‘Murder on Mont Blanc’.
When she set out to write it, she thought, ‘What kind of book would I like to read?’ The result is a twisty mystery with a sense of humour and a feisty heroine, taking place in the French Alps where Kate has spent much of her life, and with a nod to Golden Age crime fiction in its 1930s setting.
Kate is one of the volunteer organisers of the Herts Book Festival, taking place annually in Hertford and Ware, and is an experienced creative writing tutor for both children and adults. She is passionate about helping people discover the joy of writing, and reading and believes strongly that creativity is for everyone.
She is currently working on the second of the Marie-Laure mysteries, ‘Downhill to Death’.
