In 2015 I was commissioned to do a CD of songs about Farming Life for the Farmland
Museum and I told everyone it was my first solo CD for nearly 20 years. Then I found
most people did not know I had done any. So I dug out “Almost a Gentleman” a cassette
album from 1993, “Accordion to Taste” (1996) and the CD “Man of Parts” (1997) and
had a listen to them in the studio of friend and colleague Andy Dewar. We decided that
there was enough good material to create a CD and that Andy could apply his wizardry
to ensure it did not sound too uneven in spite of the original reel to reel masters being
lost – and hardly anyone has those machines anymore! So here is an offering for your
listening pleasure is a collection of highlights – not entirely a solo album as there are a
host a great singers and musicians joining me on many of the tracks adding to the fun.
